A slight chill has crept into the air, and I’ve resolutely decided to go to your city to find you. I believe you’re living a quiet life somewhere in that city, just like me, who fears noise…
We travel back and forth in our respective cities, for our future, for our dreams, for our lives.
Adults always say that our dreams are unrealistic.
Sometimes life reminds us that we haven’t given enough, and sometimes reality mocks our naive and outdated ideas. Perhaps this is the truth of life itself—cruel yet so inspiring.
Looking out the window at the fleeting scenery, the asphalt road seemed to stretch for thousands of miles.
We live in cities that are not far apart, but we are both working hard for our own futures and have neglected these deep-rooted friendships.
We’ve never traveled to other cities for each other. But this time, I’ve decided to go to your city to find you!
With heart full of enthusiasm and joy, I didn’t contact you, nor did I tell you about my arrival.
I just want to know what your city is like, whether it’s as bustling and vibrant as you described; I just want to know if you’re doing well, whether it’s as carefree and wonderful as you said; I also want to know what kind of people surround you, whether they’re the same as you said, who cry with you, laugh with you, and play around with you to your heart’s content.
I slowly wander through your city with my luggage on my back, wanting to remember every corner and keep it in my mind, so that it becomes a part of my memories.
Just as you told me, this city is a place where night falls, the lights come on, and everyone is trying to hide their deep sadness.
I walked slowly, looking around with wonder at everything. This is where you live, where your dreams take flight, and where you want to stay after you’ve settled down.
I don’t like bright lights and bustling crowds, but I love this city and the sense of happiness that it exudes even when it’s just a facade.
I think every street and alley in this city must have left traces of your presence. Your favorite foods include the hawked iron chestnuts, the soft pink cotton candy, the light vanilla ice cream, and the lemon-flavored pudding.
Every place I pass by reminds me of you, and I think about how you, who are not so brave, managed to stay true to yourself in this unfamiliar city.
I thought I could never forget you, so I insisted on staying in a city far from you. I thought I had forgotten you, so I decided to stay in your city. I don’t know if we’ll ever meet again, but I hope our story can continue. I think I’ll miss you in my city, and you, keep striving in your city!
